Our founding conductor’s farewell concert

For our final concert we will be performing Brahms’ A German Requiem.  This concert is a “farewell concert” for conductor Gerald Neufeld who will be ending his engagement with the GCC which included all but two of the choir’s 37 years.  The GCC was the first choir in Canada to perform this work with a period orchestra some years ago. It will again engage a period orchestra skilled in performing on orchestral instruments of the classical period, instruments that blend and balance much more easily with the choral forces in Brahms’ A German Requiem than do modern orchestral instruments.

with other works for Easter, Music and Joy
